listing of Localhost directories
listing of Localhost directories
As much as I try not to, I still end up with all kinds of sample web applications and test stuff installed on my local machine. I can't ever remember everything that I've installed and it always seems like I'm looking for something that I know I have installed there. I need some kind of menu to show up when I go to http://localhost that displays everything there. I thought about simply turning on Directory Browsing, but it only displays the actual directories, it does not display any virtual directories...

Golf is good!
Golf is good!
Ahhh... It has a way of freeing the mind of worrisome personal and work clutter. It tires the body in a wholesome, old-fashioned way that is good for the soul. It is almost cleansing. A good round of golf can also give you a new outlook on life. Because now I want to make sure I retire by 50 and play golf everyday afterward. Oh, and it's a nice way to enjoy a couple of beers and a cigar, too. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick it! | live it!

XP Pro w/IIS and ZoneAlarm 5.0 don't play nice
After a couple months of on and off tweaking of my system and general grunting, moaning, and bitching, I finally figured out why ASP.NET sites stopped running on my dev workstation. It was a problem with an updated version of ZoneAlarm. Basically you can either wait for a fix or you can completely uninstall the new version, and re-install version 4.5. See this message in their message board for more info: http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/message?board.id=access&message.id=10968 I really...
Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day
A couple of weeks ago, on Father's Day to be exact, I was mowing the backyard and doing some other yard work. My backyard neighbor, Casey, was doing the same. As we passed each other once while pushing our lawn mowers, Casey said in a slightly sarcastic tone, “Happy Father's Day”. Casey is a Dad, too - a 3 year old and a newborn. That got me to thinking about the old saying: "a mother's work is never done". Is that it or is it: "a woman's work is never done". Whatever, either way it doesn...
A little about me (part 1)
A little about me (part 1)
I am a MS focused developer (ASP, ASP.NET, Access, SQL Server, etc). I have been a professional developer for about 6 years now. I am a Graduate of Miami University with a Bachelors of Applied Science in Systems Analysis. While attending MU, I took a client/server class where the instructor chose to use the internet as the platform and taught us a brand new technology - ASP. I was hooked. More about employment and project history later... Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick...

Finally decided to jump in...
That's right - I finally decided to jump in and test the waters. Not that I have that much to say or anything real important to spout, but what the hay - I've been known to be right about some things from time to time. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick it! | live it!
